73rd Annual Meeting of the Austrian Physical Society
General Informations
The 73rd Annual Meeting of the Austrian Physical Society (ÖPG, opens an external URL in a new window) will take place at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz from 23 to 27 September, 2024.
The local organisation will be carried out by the Institute of Semiconductor and Solid State Physics of JKU.
The meeting will be covering all the main resarch topics represented by the divisons and sections of ÖPG, this year with the "Central European Condensed Matter Physics Day" on Wednesday, 25.09.2024, in HF 9901 (Hochschulfondsgebäude).

After the "History of Physics" Session and the Plenary Talk of Heinz Krenn, a documentary movie about the physicist Hans-Peter Dürr will be shown in HS 10. The director of this movie, Claus Biegert, will be giving an introduction to his film. The language is German, with English subtitles.
Also within the "History of Physics" session (16:00-17:30), the physicist Peter Renè Perez will be giving an account of his experiences as a survivor of the Holocaust, and his career as a physicist in post-war Vienna.
