DIE DOHNAL recounts the rise and fall of one one of the European government's first feminists who came to power in a conservative country like Austria during the 1970s. DIE DOHNAL is a testimony to an icon in Austrian politics, and a role model for present and future generations. We see ourselves in her, her struggles, victories and setbacks. This is a film to remember the past struggles as well as to remember to continue fighting for a future in which we are all equal.
