Ulrike Herrmann.

Bestselling author and journalist

Ulrike Herrmann is business editor at the daily newspaper taz and a sought-after speaker on the topics of climate, sustainability, the economy and capitalism. In her work, the trained banker and journalist astutely analyzes the capitalist system and the associated climate crisis. As an indispensable voice in the debate on ecology and the economy, she is an opinionated and factual advocate of the conviction that prosperity and thus democracy were made possible by capitalism in the first place, but that it also has its disadvantages.

The economist does not describe herself as a critic of capitalism, but is rather fascinated by the system. Based on this premise, she has written bestsellers such as „Das Ende des Kapitalismus. Warum Wachstum und Klimaschutz nicht vereinbar sind – und wie wir in Zukunft leben werden” (2022).
