Research as an artistic expedition and scientific voyage of discovery at the same time.
At the threshold between art and science, new worlds are unfolding that reach far beyond the boundaries of traditional disciplines. We strive to foster creative innovation and transformative research that creates opportunities to rethink our world - characterized by volatility, uncertainty, ambiguity and an ever-increasing degree of complexity - from the ground up.
In view of the multi-layered challenges, innovative methods and constant exchange are required to recognize, understand and implement the potential for new approaches at the interfaces of art, humanities, social, technical and other scientific disciplines.
The aim of the Art x Science School for Transformation is to strengthen transdisciplinary perspectives in research, to initiate and implement research projects in order to create new perspectives and solutions for the diverse processes of social change.
Our current projects:
- Our PhD team focuses on transdisciplinary knowledge production through our own research projects within the inter-university PhD program in Transformation Studies: Art x Science. This approach aims to develop creative and innovative thinking and research methods.
- The TRANSFORM project rethinks university education and research based on current social and digital transformations. As part of the Art x Science International project, we are establishing international collaborations and initiating joint research projects with cooperation partners who share a common interest in transdisciplinarity, innovation processes and transformation issues.
- The Art x Science Map shows relevant European Art x Science initiatives at universities, research and cultural institutions. The actors were identified as part of a mapping study.
