Research as a simultaneious artistic expedition and scientific voyage of discovery.
New worlds are unfolding at the crossroads of art and science, worlds that go far beyond the boundaries of conventional disciplines. We strive to foster creative innovation and transformative research that creates opportunities to rethink our world, characterized from the ground up by volatility, uncertainty, ambiguity and an ever-increasing degree of complexity.
When facing complex challenges, we need innovative methods and constant dialogue to recognize, understand and implement the potential to apply new approaches at the crossroads of the arts, humanities, social issues, technical issues, and other scientific areas.
The Art x Science School for Transformation aims to strengthen transdisciplinary perspectives in research, initiate and implement research projects that create new perspectives and solutions in support of social change and its diverse processes.
Our current projects:
- Our PhD team focuses on producing transdisciplinary knowledge by means of our own research projects as part of the inter-university PhD program in Transformation Studies: Art x Science. This approach aims to create creative and innovative thinking and research methods.
- The TRANSFORM project rethinks university education and research based on current social and digital transformations. As part of the Art x Science International project, we are establishing international partnerships and initiating joint research projects with partners who share a common interest in transdisciplinarity, innovation processes and transformation issues.
- The Art x Science Map depicts corresponding European Art x Science initiatives at universities, research institutions, and cultural institutions. The actors were identified as part of a mapping study.
