Mahesh Eranga Umagiliya is a dancer, choreographer, academic lecturer, and director of the Sri Lankan dance school, ‘Meranga Fine Arts Ensemble’. Umagiliya’s expertise ranges from traditional to mixed dance. He has worked at dance companies in Sri Lanka, Germany, and in the US. He also shares his expertise as a visiting lecturer in contemporary and traditional dance at various universities in Sri Lanka. Umagiliya is co-founder of the German-Sri Lankan association ‘VisAbility’, which is committed to empowering disabled individuals living in remote, rural areas about their rights through dance and education.
