Enabling Spaces: Spaces to Generate New Knowledge

Universities are - and have always been - a place of free and critical thinking, generating new knowledge and innovation. The latest findings in innovation research have confirmed the importance of a co-creative culture which involves attitudes and approaches that facilitate “collective cognition”. Based on the theory of “enabling spaces” (Peschl & Fundneider, 2012; 2014) and adapted to university education (Bottaro et.al, opens an external URL in a new window, 2021), we will address the following as part of the workshop:

  • How do I facilitate a co-creative space to generate (new) knowledge?
  • Why is this important when it comes to university-level education?
  • How do we even create something "new"?
  • How can I make this part of my course?

We will also test selected methods and discuss your personal experiences in teaching.
