Excellent Teaching - there is more to it than a weekly lecture in the classroom.
As a university educator, you face a multitude of challenges that often require you to demonstrate various didactic skills, as well as many other skills, in addition to your subject-specific expertise. You often encounter unexpected or challenging situations, and student diversity demands understanding a wider spectrum of educational teaching styles.
This two-part online workshop is not only for university lecturers in all majors at the start of their professional university teaching career, but also experienced educators who would like to learn something new after several years of teaching experience. You will learn more about the principles and methods of higher education didactics and how to professionally plan and structure your courses. The focus is on you as a university lecturer and improving your teaching skills.
The workshop has been designed to help you improve your skills and structure subject-specific courses in a targeted, group-oriented, and systematic manner. Together with other participants and the workshop leader, you will analyze your target group, talk about difficulties in university education and external influences, as well as discuss your didactic approach, underlying conditions and current trends.
