Based in Vienna, Stefanie Altenhofer is a freelance actor and director. In addition to her acting degree, she also earned a Master's degree in Social Economics at the JKU Linz. She co-founded the collective Das Schauwerk in 2018, where she has since worked in the fields of acting, directing, conception and text development and where she has successfully produced several successful stage productions and won awards (recognition awards for Stage Art, State of Upper Austria 2019/20; Art Promotion Award, City of Linz 2023). Other acting commitments have led to, among others, the Linz State Theater, Theater Phönix Linz, Ateliertheater Vienna, and Dschungel Vienna.

She has been an active member of the improv theater group die zebras since 2021. She has directed her own plays, most recently "From Zero to ZACK PRACK" and "heroisch in die Katastrophe" (also as a co-author). She has also been active in theater education since 2011 i.e. play associations at the Landestheater Linz) and has worked in cultural management (i.e. SCHÄXPIR Festival).
