Since the mid-60s, the Johannes Kepler University Linz has been located in urban parkland north of the city of Linz. The new Faculty of Medicine was established in 2014, adding the JKU MED Campus in the city center in close proximity to the Kepler University Hospital, thus strengthening Upper Austria's largest institution for research and education.
Located in the Linz-Auhof district, the JKU campus is convenient for many reasons: You don't spend your valuable time traversing the city to get from one class to the next because all of the most important buildings are together on one campus. Take advantage of our many comfortable spaces to enjoy a relaxed chat, focus on studying, or discuss classes with fellow classmates. The JKU offers green spaces to enjoy the outdoors, and you go to "Mensa" parties, play soccer and volleyball on campus, enjoy a cup of coffee, or even a picnic with friends - it can all happen right here!
Sustainability in Action
Sustainability. Not just a catchphrase here at the JKU campus, but part of everyday campus life. Starting with getting to campus, waste disposal, honey from beehives right here on campus to frisbees made from recycled bottle caps... The JKU is a Climate Alliance partner and we practice sustainability on a daily basis here at Upper Austria's largest educational institution.
The JKU MED Campus
Tomorrow's medical professionals need state-of-the-art infrastructure and the new JKU MED Campus offers classes ranging from anatomy (held in one of the most modern virtual anatomy lecture halls, the medSPACE) to bedside manner. Built in 2021, the JKU MED Campus places the JKU right in the middle of Linz in close proximity to the Kepler University Hospital.
