The vision of the CRI CM is to be a supra-regional competence center for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Clinical and basic research are to be combined in order to effectively promote medical innovation and health. The unique cooperation between several clinical institutes and the research facilities at the Johannes Kepler University Linz enables the development and management of biodatabases and, in particular, “big data” datasets, the scientific importance of which will increase significantly in the future.

The mission of the CRI CM is to evaluate and implement cardiovascular and metabolic research in Upper Austria. Researchers should benefit from this highly competent network by supporting the CRI CM from the planning to the implementation of research projects, clarifying funding issues and promoting scientific careers.
