Throughout the year, the JKU organizes an Open House, Welcome Week, on-campus study fairs, informational events, open house at certain institutes, and plenty of recreational activities on campus. This is a perfect opportunity to get to know your university before starting your studies!
You can also find us at a number of study fairs in Austria and abroad. Our study fair team is more than happy to provide you with information and guidance.

Why you should visit the JKU before starting your studies
- Still not sure which academic degree program is the right one for you? To help you make the right choice, compare the programs on-site. Talk with one of our academic advisors directly for more detailed information.
- Ask detailed questions, especially about any concerns you may have! Get inside information directly from students and learn about potential financial aid and scholarships, or about what the best student dorm is, etc.
- Speak directly with faculty members and students. Make some initial contacts, connections, and take a direct look at the departments or institutes and get to know the people there.
- Experience campus and university first-hand to see what it's really like and if you feel comfortable and at home here.
- Even if you're not yet enrolled at the JKU, you can still party, or take part in sporting activities here! Come to a Mensa party or take a classe throught the University Sports Institute (USI). We would also like to invite you to attend a free performance at the JKU Circus of Knowledge!
Fairs and Info Sessions at the JKU
Where better to get to get to know your university than right here on campus? You are cordially invited to take part in JKU student activities, open house at the institutes, study information fairs, or simply spend some time in the university park or in one of the many cafés! After all, the JKU has space for everyone.
JKU Open House
The university's annual Open House is THE ideal day to experience student life at the JKU! Open House takes place during spring and gives you an opportunity to become better acquainted with your university!
- Learn more about approximately 100 academic degree programs and post-graduate programs.
- Take an assessment test and learn more about where your personal strengths lie.
- Make valuable connections by meeting your potential future professors.
- Sit in a lecture hall or lab and experience what a classroom lecture is really like, or what conducting a hands-on experiment in a lab is like.
- Get a taste of university life, try our homemade nitrogen ice cream, or enjoy culinary delights from different food trucks in campus.
JKU Study Information Fair (SIM)
The JKU Study Info Fair (SIM) features representatives from a large number of universities and educational institutions from throughout Upper Austria! Learn more about different academic opportunitues in Upper Austria, what you need to do to apply, and what student life at the JKU like.
Dream Job in Engineering and Technology
The study fair is an opportunity to learn more about various academic degree programs in Upper Austria that focus on technology, engineering, computer sciences, artificial intelligence, or natural sciences! Come visit us together with your class.
