Graduates of the Ph.D. Program in Economics (doctorate studies) work at universities, research institutes and at other post-secondary educational institutions, research departments at the European Central Bank, the Austrian National Bank, other banks, rating agencies, regional development companies, market research institutes and at other companies and commercial organizations, in research departments at international organizations such as the OECD (Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation), EU (European Union), IMF (International Monetary Fund) or the World Bank, in research departments of public institutions, interest groups and NGOs (NGOs), in politics, and in the media.
Together with the University of Innsbruck, the JKU offers a phil. Ph.D. degree program.
The Faculty of Economics and Statistics at the University of Innsbruck and the Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics & Business at the JKU have joined forces. The Ph.D. Program in Economics and Statistics (doctorate studies) gives you the opportunity to:
- conduct theoretical and empirical research in economics and publish internationally,
- teach economics and business,
- use theoretical and empirical research methods to address and solve economic policy issues and develop new aspects and arguments.
