Areas of Specialization
The Master's degree program in Law:
- provides in-depth studies to expand further on subjects taught as part of Bachelor's degree curriculum, such as civil law and civil procedural law, public law, criminal law and criminal procedural law, commercial law; you will focus on interdisciplinary case studies concentrating on multidisciplinary approaches and cutting-edge technologies (legal technology, digital governance, etc.)
- expands your understanding and expertise of gender, diversity and human rights, you will engage in procedural justice and key skills in this area
- gives you the choice between a concentration in general jurisdiction/justice or administration and administrative jurisdiction
- provides an additional core focus based on the Master's thesis and a required seven-month legal internship

Prerequisites
In order to be admitted to the Master's degree program, you must fulfill the following requirements.
- The successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in Law at the JKU allows you to enroll in the Master's degree in Law without any additional requirements.
- Graduates from other universities or colleges holding a Bachelor's degree in Law are required to meet the legal admission requirements. Please contact the JKU Admissions Office.
- If your first language is not the language the degree program is offered in, you will be required to submit proof of a C1 level of proficiency in German.
