Our department’s responsibilities include issues pertaining to human resource development and organizational development as well as equality-related matters such as the advancement of women, diversity, and work/life balance.
The Department Human Resources Development, Gender & Diversity Management is part of JKU Central Services and subject to directives. The department is subordinated functionally as well as legally to the Rector of the university, and structured into two sections:
The Human Resource Development Unit engages in central responsibilities to support human resource development and organizational development, providing the JKU’s employees and departments with a broad range of training and continual education opportunities as well as both personal and organization-specific consulting services. The unit not only supervises team-building measures and offers executive coaching, it is responsible for implementing corporate health-care measures, Dual Career Services, and initiating career development and networking programs for female researchers.
The Gender & Diversity Management Unit supports the Rectorate in all matters regarding equality, the advancement of women, and diversity. The unit also coordinates internal communication between the JKU and those tasked with gender and equality responsibilities (the Committee for Equal Opportunities, IFG). The Gender and Diversity Management unit addresses issues relating to equal opportunity, diversity, and balancing work/studies with family responsibilities. The unit continually drafts and implements gender mainstreaming efforts, strategies, and programs.
