The New JKU Rectorate Assumes Office on October 1

The new Johannes Kepler University Linz Rectorate will begin its four-year term of office today, October 1, 2023.

The ceremonial inauguration for the new JKU Rector, Univ. Prof. Dr. Stefan Koch, will take place next Tuesday, October 3, in the JKU Ceremony Hall.

Rector Univ. Prof. Dr. Stefan Koch's team consists of:

  • Univ. Prof. Dr. Alberta Bonanni (Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs),
  • Mag. Dr. Elgin Drda (Vice-Rector for Medicine),
  • Mag. Alexander Freischlager (Vice-Rector for Campus Enhancements, Digitalization, and Sustainability),
  • Univ. Prof. Dr. Andreas Janko (Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs) and
  • Mag. Christiane Tusek (Vice-Rector for Finance and Entrepreneurship)

Univ. Prof. Dr. Stefan Koch's ceremonial inauguration as the new JKU Rector will take place on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, beginning at 10:30 AM in the JKU’s Ceremony Hall.

About Rector Univ. Prof. Dr. Stefan Koch
Born in Vienna in 1974, Stefan Koch earned a Diploma degree in business informatics at the University of Vienna before earning a doctorate at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He also earned his post-doctorate in Vienna in 2006 in business administration, business information systems in particular. Koch taught and worked at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul between 2008 and 2016, and served as head of the Department of Management for four years. Stefan Koch was appointed at the JKU in 2016 to become head of the Institute of Information Systems - Information Engineering where he played a leading role in establishing the JKU Business School.
