Research area Rare Disease

The research of rare diseases is a central part of our mission at the Department of Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine at the Kepler University Hospital. Rare diseases present a particular challenge as they are often difficult to diagnose and treat.

Our dedicated research team is intensely focused on investigating the genetic and molecular foundations of rare diseases to develop new diagnostic procedures and therapeutic options. Studying rare diseases not only helps identify specific therapeutic targets for these conditions but also reveals fundamental mechanisms in the body that can be used as therapeutic targets for other diseases in the future.

Through our research, we aim to sustainably improve the quality of life and future prospects of affected children, providing them with the best possible medical care.
