The 2025 JKU Summer Ball
Following last year's successful debut, the Johannes Kepler University Linz Summer Ball is returning! Once again, the JKU campus will become a stage and ballroom on Friday, June 13, 2025, as part of a night to remember.
Under the motto “DANCE THE KEPLER - A Quantum Leap at the JKU Summer Ball”, we will be plunging into one of the world's most fascinating scientific discoveries! It is a revolution that has forever changed how we understand the world: Quantum research.
A hundred years of advancements in quantum research have affected how we view ourselves. Whereas we previously understood our universe to be a uniform clockwork universe, today we know that coincidence opens up new paths, creating a world full of possibilities. This new understanding has also influenced modern technology and made groundbreaking discoveries possible. Let's communicate what we know and also celebrate quantum research during the 2025 International Year of Quantum Science and Technology!
Be there at the crossroads where science, music, and ballroom dancing will come together in a unique way.

1) You must present your valid JKU ID (employees and/or students), student ID card (other educational institutions), or valid 4YouCard. Those who have purchased the “Buy 3 – Get 4” deal will get four tickets in the respective category (employees or students). Everyone must present a corresponding ID card (JKU Card, student ID card, etc.) upon entry.
2) Applies for 2 people, providing a minimum of one person can present a valid JKU Card (JKU employees and/or students).
When purchasing employee tickets (€ 18), employees at the Kepler University Hospital (KUK) hospitals are also required to show their employee ID at the door!

Student Special: "Your Prof is Your DJ"
Welcome to another legendary edition of "Your Prof is your DJ", bringing students and professors together on the dance floor! This time around, our distinguished professors not only bring their expertise to the turntables, but also their DJ skills, sure to guarantee an unforgettable night of music, dancing, and fun. Be there when the lines between the classroom and the dance floor disappear, and students and faculty members connect in a unique way!
Dress Code
(Summertime) evening wear.
A ball is all about the surroundings, the ambience, and the atmosphere. We would like to kindly ask all guests to come to campus dressed for the occasion! The summer ball dress code includes knee-length to floor-length dresses or pantsuits for ladies and for men, suits, dress coats, or long dress slacks and a dress shirt (short-sleeves, weather-permitting). Dress shoes and evening shoes are welcome, as well as nice matching sneakers.
As with any ball (or formal occasion of this type), flip-flops, leggings, jeans, and T-shirts are inappropriate. A ball is, after all, a special, festive, and formal event that we all wish to enjoy together!

The Johannes Kepler University's Summer Ball debuted on campus in 2024.
We need new ideas in times of change, which is also true when it comes to celebrations: the Johannes Kepler University Linz held its first Summer Ball on Friday, June 14, 2024, under the motto “DANCE THE KEPLER”. It was a night-long shared celebration of the JKU spirit directly on campus.
Attended by over 2,000 guests dancing and enjoying themselves until the wee hours of the morning, the ball proved to be an unforgettable evening. We look forward to the 2025 Summer Ball with great anticipation!
