Welcome Week is an opportunity to get to know your university before starting your studies, meet classmates and fellow students as well as learn everything you need to know for a successful start to your university experience.
Welcome Week is an opportunity for newly enrolled students to learn more about the JKU during the first week of the semester! You can sign up for a JKU campus tour and various activities as well as an academic advising appointment. We look forward to seeing you soon!
This year, for the first time, you can get a stamp at many events (JKU Stamp Pass) - for your free JKU T-shirt! You can find out where to get a stamp right here at the Action, Fun & Partying programm!

Workshop Week at the Start of the Semester!
Please note. Workshop Week will take place between September 23 - 27, before Welcome Week!
Between 9.00 AM - 12.00 PM, there will be free short workshop sessions every day during this week designed to help you prepare for the start of the upcoming Winter Semester! The workshops have been organized by the Office of Student Psychological Counseling Linz and are open to all students (available in German only). Check-In at the Kepler Hall - Get Your JKU Swag Bag!
After checking in at the Kepler Hall, you can pick up your JKU ‘swag bag’ and then get ready to explore the campus! Use your voucher to get your swag bag (you will receive the voucher via e-mail once you have been admitted to the university). If you are studying medicine, you can pick up your swag bag directly at the MED campus.
Pick-Up at the Kepler Hall:

Activities, Fun & Partying
Games, sports & fun are also part of starting your studies! Try out classes offered by the University Sports Institute (USI) or join in on the fun and practice your team spirit playing tournaments at the Raiffeisen OÖ-Freizeitarea. Additionally, you can look forward to other highlights, such as the JKU Food Market, puzzle fun with "Escape the Hörsaal", the Mensa Festival, and the Astros Gameday.

Campus Tour & an Introduction to the Library
The JKU Somnium observation platform, the Science Park, the floating café on the university pond, dining halls, libraries, and more... Join our guides and your fellow students on a tour of the JKU campus!
During Welcome Week, JKU campus tours are available every day at different times and you can choose a tour according to your major and when it is most convenient for you!

- An introduction to the JKU Main Campus Library & the Learning Center

Are you interested in working while studying, do you need help with the application process, or do you need information about financial aid, grants and scholarships? Are you studying and also require childcare services? Are things a bit tough at the moment in your studies or in your personal life and you would like to talk to someone you can trust?
We offer many different services on campus to help you during your studies, ranging from making friends to managing your time more efficiently. Welcome Week is an opportunity to learn more about these services and talk with representatives directly.
You can book appointments as follows between Monday and Thursday:
- A fast-check of your CV for free, JKU Alumni / JKU Career Center (Tuesday 14.00 PM & Thursday, 11.30 AM)
- Tips & tricks to start your studies off on the right foot, The Office of Student Psychological Counseling Services Linz (Thursday at 1.00 PM - Monday is full)
The "JKU Hidden Places Sunset Tour" at the JKU
On Wednesday, October 2, starting at 4.15 PM, join our social media manager, Gregor, on a tour of the JKU! Discover places you don't normally have access to as a student. You are, of course, invited to take photos to post on your Insta account. Finish the tour by enjoying the sunset at the Somnium, the perfect photo spot!
The group size is limited to 10 and spots for this tour will be raffled off among those who sign up! So, sign up now and with a little luck, you can join in on the fun!

A First Semester Info Session
Let us provide you with important information for international students, especially at the start of your studies! If you have any questions or concerns, stop by the International Welcome Center (IWC) any time between 9.00 AM - 4.00 PM. We will also give you a list of important links about living and studying in Austria.
Coffee and cake will be provided!
