Over a hundred researchers, scientists, and scholars were at the JKU medSPACE.

The third installment of “Forschungsinteraktion zwischen der Medizinischen und der Technisch-Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultät” attracted a number interested participants. Scientific findings generated at the JKU resulting from research in engineering, life sciences, and in medicine have been truly remarkable. Dean at the Faculty of Engineering & Natural Sciences, Alois Ferscha, remarked: "The presentations provided an impressive overview of ongoing expertise portfolios, current challenges in research, and pending scientific issues. The talks focused on important research findings, addressed future growth prospects, as well as collaboration opportunities for joint TNF-MED research studies and projects."
A unique feature distinguishing Linz as an academic location includes potential opportunities for experts in the field of medicine to partner with scholars at the other JKU faculties at the university. Elgin Drda, JKU Vice-Rector for Medicine and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, adds, “We would like to harness the potential to a greater degree than ever before. Advances are happening at breakneck speed, giving us unprecedented opportunities to improve patient care, diagnostic procedures, and provide more effective treatments.”
Alberta Bonanni, JKU Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs, was pleased at how successful the initiative was: “These types of sessions to initiate focused networking opportunities are pivotal in fostering collaborative relationships between different disciplines and finding innovative solutions to address today's challenge.”
