Three scholars at the Faculty of Medicine have been presented with awards in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
Members from the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the JKU Faculty of Medicine (Chair: Univ. Prof. Dr. Peter Oppelt) were presented with awards in the categories of Obstetrics, Reproductive Medicine, and Uro-Gynecology.
The awards were presented to OÄ Dr. Sabine Enengl for her work on the practice of tocolysis at Austrian maternity clinics, to Assist. Dr. Julia Lastinger on implantation on the implantation prospects of repeated embryo transfer, to OA Priv. Doz. DDr. Patrick Stelzl for his work focusing on targeted treatments to improve implantation in a 3-dimensional in-vitro model of the uterine lining, and to former colleague Dr. Sebastian Jülg (now head of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Freistadt Hospital) on minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat uterine prolapse.
The biennial DGGG congress attracts over 6,000 participants in German-speaking Europe and ranks among the most important conferences in this subject area. In addition to scientific presentations, workshops, and discussions, the conference serves as a platform to support innovation and partnerships to present groundbreaking research findings and share expertise. The outstanding poster contributions by experts in Linz and Freistadt are testament to the outstanding scientific research conducted by experts in Upper Austria who are committed to advancing medicine in Upper Austria, particularly in the field of gynecology and obstetrics.
