A total of 49 Master's graduates - the majority of whom were women (34 graduates) as opposed to their male counterparts (15 graduates) - were awarded the title of Doctor medicinae universae,. Two graduates were promoted to Doctor of Medical Science.

Mag. Dr. Elgin Drda (JKU Vice-Rector and Dean), Univ. Prof. Susanna Zierler (Assistant Dean of Studies), and Univ. JKU Vice-Rector Elgin Drda remarked: “When it comes to our med school graduates, graduation is a definitive milestone. They will embark on a career that demands a high degree of interpersonal skills and social skills, as well as professional expertise and great personal commitment. Given the demographic trend, the university is taking on the important socio-political responsibility by educating highly qualified young physicians. The JKU Faculty of Medicine is contributing significantly to a higher level of quality healthcare in Upper Austria by a providing hands-on, future-oriented curriculum in medicine. I would like to congratulate our future physicians and wish them all successful and fulfilling medical careers. Vivat academia, vivant alumni!”

Christine Haberlander (State Health Minister and Assist. Governor) added: “Congratulations to all of our graduates on successfully completing their studies! We are working towards a greater common goal of ensuring that everyone in the country can lead a healthy, happy lifestyle, now – and well into later life. Looking ahead, I wish you all the best as doctors, where you will contribute significantly to accomplishing the goal.”

The JKU's medical degree program is Austria's first to be offered as a Bachelor's/Master's degree program, educating a new generation of physicians. In 2024, a total of 81 med students successfully earned their medical degree and celebrate their accomplishments as part of an academic graduate ceremony.
