JKU Rector Meinhard Lukas and Vice-Rector Elgin Drda extended an invitation for guests to learn more about the JKU medSPACE. Dean Franz Fellner, professor of Virtual Morphology, shared 3D anatomical images of the human body and prepared the audience to witness two surgeries live, and in real-time. Univ. Prof. Andreas Zierer conducted open-heart surgery, and Univ. Prof. Andreas Gruber conducted a live brain aneurysm procedure. Prof. Matthias Bolz commented on both procedures and also showed a 3D video of an ophthalmic surgical procedure.

The evening drew to a pleasant close at the JKU medLOFT. Guests included Josef Pühringer (former governor of Upper Austria), Franz Dobusch (former mayor of Linz), former politicians Franz Hiesl (LHStV), Christiana Dolezal (deputy mayor), Erich Dietachmayr (president of the Higher Regional Court), Andreas Shamiyeh (president of the Medical Society), Johannes Fischer (president of the Upper Austrian Regional Administrative Court), Niels Hammer (Medical University of Graz), Karl-Heinz Stadlbauer (medical director), and Klaus Engel (Siemens Healthineers), as well as medical professors and media representatives.
