Hosted by a local organizational team consisting of senior physician Milan R. Vosko and senior physician Caterina Kulyk (JKU Faculty of Medicine), and supported by assistant physician Cristina Cerinza Sick and senior physician Joachim Gruber (Kepler University Hospital Linz), the conference for 27 neurologists interested in the subject of strokes took place in Linz. Following opening remarks by Prof. Raimund Helbok (head of the Department of Neurology at the JKU’s Faculty of Medicine) and Dr. Julia Ferrari (President of the Austrian Stroke Society ÖGSF), presentations focused on current theoretical and clinical issues relating to stroke prevention, treatment and aftercare. Alongside presentations by renowned experts on the subject of strokes, additional high points included hands-on workshops conducted in small groups, interactive case discussions, and a visit to the JKU medSPACE where participants learned more about the brain as part of a unique 3D presentation.
