Alexander Kemptner received the Best Paper Award for his publication.

[Translate to Englisch:] Award

The paper entitled "Joint Neighbor Discovery and Communication in Wireless Sensor Networks" was selected as the best paper at the IEEE 10th World Forum on Internet of Things (WF-IoT) conference. The conference took place from 10/11/2024 - 13/11/2024 in Ottawa, Canada. The prize was awarded on 13/11/2024 by the Conference Chairs Burak Kantarci and Reza Malekian.

The award-winning work presents a new method for finding neighbors in wireless ad-hoc sensor networks. This method also enables energy-saving data exchange between the sensor nodes and adapts dynamically when the number and position of the nodes in the network changes. None of these functions require a coordinating central node.
