This is your opportunity to prove that the JKU's scholarly expertise outshines the international competition! Join the JKU team and take on colleagues from Salamanca and Iasi as part of an exciting showdown between science and creativity.
Be a Part of the EC²U Science Contest Team!
On behalf of the JKU Linz, we proudly announce that our university will be taking part in the EC²U Science Contest, a challenging and thought-provoking competition between three academic teams from the University of Salamanca (USAL, Spain), the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University (UAIC, Iași, Romania) and us, the JKU Linz! It is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your academic creativity and expertise in problem-solving as well as connect with peers from across Europe.
Information:
- Date: Wednesday, October 23, 2024 (as part of the EC²U-Forum at the JKU between October 21 - 24, 2024)
- Location: Johannes Kepler University, Linz
- Language: English
Who can take part: Professors, associate professors, post-docs, post-doctoral researchers, and PhD candidates are welcome to apply! You will work together as part of a multidisciplinary team to address compelling issues and demonstrate the interest, fun, and curiosity that it takes to drive academic and scientific research forward.
Questions such as "Do blind people dream in color?", "Will artificial intelligence ever be able to write a Shakespeare play?", or "How many mirrors would it take to see your reflection over 100 times?" are just a glimpse of the kind of questions you could be asked to address. If these are the kind of questions that spark your imagination and pique your curiosity, then the science competition is perfect for you!
Are you interested in taking a look at an earlier Science Contest (Battle)? Here is a video from the the last Science Battle, opens an external URL in a new window (formerly known as Science Contest), that took place in Poitiers, France, during the last EC²U Forum.
Apply now: Send an e-mail to: ec2u(at)jku.at by July 31, 2024, and include information about your interest, your academic background/research area, as well as your current position at the JKU.
