Integrated Circuits
The Department for Integrated Circuits at Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria focuses on analog and mixed-signal circuit design with a emphasis on low-power techniques, RF, mmWave, and THz integrated circuits. Our research activities aim to advance the state-of-the-art in electronic circuit design, building on our expertise in cellular communication. We investigate ESD protection techniques and EMI mitigation strategies to ensure reliability and robustness of modern electronic circuits and systems. Additionally, we contribute to Open Source Integrated Circuit Design (OSIC Design) through the IIC-OSIC-Tools distribution. Our academic programs offer a range of educational opportunities, including graduate and undergraduate courses, as well as supervision for Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD dissertations.

Quantum Computing
The Quantum Computing team pursues an interdisciplinary research agenda at the interface between computer science (algorithms & computational complexity), physics (quantum information & quantum technologies) and applied math (convex geometry & high dimensional probability theory). Broadly speaking, we aspire to develop efficient and simple solutions for important algorithmic challenges that work in practice, but also come with rigorous mathematical underpinning. While our core focus is quantum learning and quantum algorithms, applications in wireless communication, randomized linear algebra, imaging, the math of voting and electronic design automation are also within our portfolio.
