Research seminar sustainability: The Circular Economy

Goals

  • Gain a deeper theoretical and empirical knowledge about current challenges at the intersection of sustainability, innovation, and quality management.
  • Be able to participate in ongoing discussions regarding sustainability management.
  • Understand the relevance of current research results for sustainability management.

  • Innovation processes in the circular economy
  • Smart products as enabler for the circular economy
  • Environmental and quality management systems
  • Quality standards and certification systems in the context of a circular economy and sustainability

JKU regular students must have completed the course Sustainability Management Fundamentals and the module “Sustainability Transition and Management Control” or “Sustainability Management and Organization”.

We combine theoretical inputs, group work and feedback-based teaching accompanied by reflections and discussions on the selected challenges.

Bachelor’s Thesis (old Curriculum Bachelor Wirtschaftswissenschaften)

Students pursuing the old curriculum can write a single / double (1 / 2 persons) Bachelor’s Thesis advancing the topic selected during the course (as formerly carried out at the modules “SE Umwelt- und Qualitätsmanagement” and “SE Umwelt- und Ressourcenmanagement”).

The Bachelor's Thesis will be only accepted in English language.
