Lukas Burgholzer Receives the 2024 Heinz Zemanek Award

Written under the academic supervision of the Institute for Integrated Circuits (supervisor: Prof. Robert Wille), DI Burgholzer's dissertation focuses on developing software for quantum computing. The award named in honor of the Austrian computer pioneer Heinz Zemanek, opens an external URL in a new window is presented by the Austrian Computer Society every two years in recognition of outstanding dissertations in the field of computer science. 

During the final presentations in May, Burgholzer (JKU) and Schwarzl (TU Graz) emerged as the winners ahead of five other candidates who had outstanding dissertations in the field of computer science.
