The Institute of Business Informatics – Information Engineering focuses on information systems in organizations with the aim of measuring  their effectiveness and efficiency and to identify potentials for improvement for organizations through their use as well as new business models built on them. The Institute develops and tests models, methods and tools for the management of information systems as well as for companies in the digital economy, as well as deals with theoretical questions of the science of business informatics.The focus is on the effects arising from digitization, in particular, the recognition of opportunities (Opportunity Recognition) and the handling of negative effects such as technostress, privacy issues, or the environmental impact of the use of information systems.
