2. HEINRICH-LECTURE
Univ.-Prof. Dr. Thomas Hess, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München "Digital Transformation of Companies: Backgrounds, Insights and Perspectives"
On the occasion of the 85th birthday of em. Univ.-Prof. Lutz J. Heinrich, the Institute for Business Informatics - Information Engineering has initiated a lecture series. The second Heinrich Lecture will take place on May 16, 2022 at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. It is a great honor and pleasure for us that we could again win a renowned business informatics expert for the second Heinrich Lecture. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Thomas Hess is Director of the Institute for Business Informatics and New Media at the Faculty of Business Administration at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich.
Cloud services, artificial intelligence, quantum computing - these and many other digital technologies involve opportunities and risks for companies. In order to systematically tap into these, the concept of digital transformation has emerged in recent years. Many companies are already using this concept and are even asking themselves the question: what comes next? Other companies are still at the very beginning and are making their first cautious attempts. The aim of this presentation is to provide an overview of the concept of digital transformation, its strengths and weaknesses, and its prospects. Both the conceptual foundations and concrete digital innovations will be considered, as well as the management of the transformation process.
