2024 International Conference on Information Resources Management

[Translate to Englisch:] Conf-IRM2024

The 16th International Conference on Information Resources Management (Conf-IRM) focused on the topic ‘Humanizing the Digital Age’ and took place from 26 - 28 May 2024 in Cairo, organised by the American University in Cairo (AUC). Prof.in Dr.in Barbara Krumay from the Johannes Kepler University Linz and Prof. Galal Galal Edeen from the American University in Cairo acted as Programme Co-Chairs. The keynote speech by Professor Jonathan Liebenau from the LSE discussed challenges for humans resulting from of digitalisation. Professor Claudia Loebbecke from the University of Cologne, the first German woman president of the AIS, demonstrated the development of IS research in the context of the 30th anniversary of the AIS. The conference topic of this year's Conf-IRM attracted many interesting contributions; the strong attention that artificial intelligence (AI) has received recently was also reflected in the conference programme. The fact that Conf-IRM is always keen to promote and discuss new research is demonstrated by the highly relevant papers on ongoing research that were submitted and accepted for presentation. The contributions from participants from 29 countries covered a wide range of topics in different areas of information management over the three days of the conference; Conf-IRM 2024 included a panel on ‘Understanding and Mitigating the Dark Side of Information Technology Use’ and a workshop on ‘AI, Automation of Work, and the Role of Trust and Authentic Leadership During Times of Digital Transformation’. On the third day, Conf-IRM 2024 once again hosted a PhD consortium aimed at students who have previously submitted their research, but also open to PhD students from local universities. This was followed by an IT symposium with local representatives from business and research, in which possible future developments were discussed in depth.
