The JKU Astros Successfully Open the Season

The season's first game saw the JKU basketball team play against the Med Uni Serpents.

Both the women's and men's teams played nail-biting matches at the Kepler Hall! The women's match was anyone’s game to the very end, however in the end, our Astros were defeated by the Serpents 42:49. Despite the loss, the team fought hard and delivered a strong performance, promising what is sure to be an action-packed season ahead!

An Impressive Win for the Men’s Team
A dominant 58:43 win against the visitors from Vienna saw the JKU men’s team successfully kick off the start of the new season! Savo Blagojevic stood out, playing particularly well and with strong, decisive plays.

Members of the JKU Rectorate in Attendance
Members of the JKU Rectorate attended the season opener and JKU Vice-Rector Christiane Tusek threw the honorary toss for both games, underscoring a sense of team spirit as well as the bond between the university and athletics.

All in all, the JKU Astros enjoyed a successful start to the new season, and not just on the court! The atmosphere at the Kepler Hall was phenomenal, and team is looking forward to the next match on November 22 against the TU Robots.
