Michael Landesmann Presented with the Kurt Rothschild Award

The former JKU economics professor was presented with the award in recognition of his life's work.

Michael Landesmann, Professor Emeritus of Economics and former Academic Director at the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies, was the recipient of this year's Kurt Rothschild Award for Economic Journalism at the Karl Renner Institute. He was presented with the main award for his work regarding European integration, growth and globalized structural change as well as the labor market and employment.

Michael Landesmann was professor of economics at the JKU between 1993 and 2019. His work focuses on topics that include European and global economic relations as well as structural change, the labor market, and migration. He also served as an advisor to former EU Commission President, Romano Prodi.
