Shortly before the start of the European Championships, the Austrian national football team took advantage of SINUS’ expertise! As part of a partnership between UEFA and the ERC (European Resuscitation Council), SINUS Linz held a first-aid and CPR course for the Austrian Football Association players and the coaching staff. Teams from Georgia, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia spent time in Austria training for the European Championships as well and also had an opportunity to take a first-aid course as part of a “GOAL” course (GO and save A Life) organized by SINUS Linz.

Be it on the pitch or during practice, football players and other athletes are often are under immense physical pressure to perform in an environment where medical emergencies can occur at any time. Athletes must not only be physically fit, but also in a position to respond correctly in the event of an emergency. The footballers are very aware of just how important first-aid is and were motivated to learn more and conscientiously practice CPR on resuscitation dummies.
