The awards, each endowed with prize money in the amount of €7,000, were presented in recognition of outstanding teaching at universities, universities of applied sciences, and private universities in five areas. Profs. Katzlinger and Stabauer, both from the Institute of Digital Business (JKU), received awards in the category of “Concept and Examples of Cooperative Learning and Working Forms”.

Nominations for the award were submitted by student representatives, university management, and quorums. A jury consisting of international experts reviewed all 121 submissions from a total of 40 universities and created a list of the top 15 examples of excellence in teaching. The winners were selected from this list.
