Evgeny Lukachev got the best paper award for his paper and presentation, entitled: “Hydraulic switching type position control of a large cylinder drive” at the last GFPS PhD Symposium in Samara, Russia. This award is represented by the Wolfgang Backè medal.

The photo shows Evgeny with Prof. Andrew Plummer at the awarding ceremony. Prof. Plummer is currently the head of the scientific board of the Global Fluid Power Society.

Evgeny is the third PhD student from Linz winning this award in the series of PhD Symposia. The former winners from Linz were Bernd Winkler (2004, Terrassa, Spain) and Christoph Gradl (2016, Florianopolis, Brazil).

The next PhD Symposium will be held in China, at the Harbin Institute of Technology in 2020.
