Richard Mayer and Siegfried Mariacher Presented with Habilitation Certificates
In May, Vice-Rector Dr. Elgin Drda presented Priv. Doz. Dr. Richard Mayer (Gynecology and Obstetrics) and Priv. Doz. Dr. Siegfried Mariacher (Ophthalmology and Optometry) with their habilitation certificates.
On May 17, 2021, Vice-Rector Dr. Elgin Drda presented habilitation certificates to OA Dr. Richard Mayer and OA Dr. Siegfried Mariacher, FEBO and congratulated them on earning their venia docendi. OA Dr. Mayer received his teaching qualification in the subject area of "Gynecology and Obstetrics" with his post-doc dissertation titled "Interaction Optimization between Embryo and Endometrium to Increase the Implantation Rate in Assisted Reproductive Medicine".
OA Dr. Mariacher received his venia docendi teaching qualification in the subject area of "Ophthalmology and Optometry" with his post-doc dissertation titled "Interaction between Patient-Specific and Device-Specific Parameters in the Context of Femtosecond Laser Assisted Ophthalmic Surgery".
About Dr. Mayer and Dr. Mariacher
Born in Upper Austria, Priv.Doz. Dr. Richard Mayer studied medicine at the Medical University in Vienna, earning a doctorate in 2005. He completed his residency in gynecology and obstetrics in 2012 and in 2015, he trained in general medicine at the Linz State Women’s and Children’s Hospital, at the former General Hospital in Linz, and the LKH Kirchdorf/Krems. Priv. Doz. Dr. Mayer was senior physician in obstetrics at Kepler University Hospital between 2016 and 2020 and since July 2020, has been senior physician at the Convent Hospital of the Brothers of Mercy in Linz.
Priv.-Doz. Dr. Siegfried Mariacher studied medicine at the Medical University in Innsbruck, earning his doctorate in 2016 at the Faculty of Medicine at Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen. He was a Fellow in Paris in 2017 (European Board of Ophthalmology, FEBO) and in 2018, he completed his ophthalmology residency in Germany (Saarland). Priv.-Doz. Dr. Siegfried Mariacher is currently employed at the Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry at the Kepler University Hospital.
