This is the question addressed by the "AI2Human" project team. Together with Pro²Future and the AUVA (General Accident Insurance Institution) we are researching how AI can be used safely for occupational safety.

Interested visitors could try out our prototypes at the Long Night of Research 2024. AI can safeguard dangerous areas by detecting people or intelligently monitor the air quality. Martin Schobesberger (Institute of Pervasive Computing) and Jaroslava Huber (Pro2Future GmbH) answered numerous questions and engaged in lively discussions. They also showed that an algorithm can sometimes make mistakes when recognizing protective equipment and misidentify hair as a safety helmet.
