I am a philosopher of science with an interest in statistical reasoning. I am especially interested in statistical reasoning in economics and artificial intelligence, as well as the foundations of statistics. My principal research goal at present is the application of the ideas of philosophers of statistics like Henry E. Kyburg and Jon Williamson to the context of econometrics, both in economics and by artificial intelligence systems. My research also connects with other issues in the philosophy of evidence, inductive logic, decision theory, and probability.
Prior to joining the Institute at JKU, I was a Research Assistant Professor at Lingnan University, Hong Kong (2022-2023). I have also been a postdoctoral researcher at the Erasmus Institute for Economics and Philosophy at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands (2020-2022) and a research fellow in the Department of Medicine at the Polytechnic University of the Marche within an ERC project (2019-2020). I did my PhD (2013-2017) and early postdoctoral work (2017-2019) at Durham University, UK.
