Welcome to the Institute of Polymer Processing and Digital Transformation.

The Institute of Polymer Processing and Digital Transformation (IPPD) specialises in research and teaching on continuous and discontinuous processes in plastics processing.

The focus of our portfolio is on process modelling and digitalisation.

The focus is always on generating industrial added value, which is ensured through close cooperation with our partners. We distinguish ourselves in particular through the globally unique method of hybrid process modelling developed at the IPPD and its coupling with a digitalised research infrastructure from laboratory to pilot scale.

The interlinking of these two aspects enables comprehensive model validation, model generation and optimisation using real-time process data and thus makes a fundamental contribution to the digital transformation of the plastics processing industry.

This transformation requires expert knowledge in the field of plastics technology. The IPPD is therefore involved in the reorganisation of the Bachelor Program Sustainable Polymer Engineering & Cirular Economy - at the Johannes Kepler University Linz

Digitalization set the pace this year. Over the holidays from this year into the next, we will be treating ourselves to a few analog days. We'll bring 2024 to a quiet close and pick up the pace again on January 7, 2025.

In the meantime, enjoy the season's festivities and some quiet, relaxing moments.
