The Department of Work, Organizational, and Media Psychology was founded in 2005 under the direction of Prof. Dr. Bernad Batinic as an independent division of the Institute of Psychology. Currently, the core team consists of four research associates and two office assistants. The team is complemented on a semester or project basis by a number of interns and student assistants.
The research areas and focuses of the department lie at the intersection of media psychology and work and organizational psychology. These include topics such as the meaning of work, the use and effects of media and new technologies, and data collection methods on the internet.
Teaching activities primarily include courses on topics such as New Media and Media Psychology, Work and Organizational Psychology, and Web Sciences. In addition, we offer courses on quantitative methods and a range of courses for bachelor's and master's students, as well as for diploma and doctoral candidates.
