The history and work of the DGOF, opens an external URL in a new window - German Society for Online Research is closely linked to the German Internet Research List (GIR-L). The GIR-L is a mailing list founded in May 1996 by Andreas Werner and Dr. Bernad Batinic with more than 1200 registered users. The aim of the GIR-L is to discuss social, communication and market research issues relating to the Internet. The first GOR conference was initiated by the GIR-L in 1997. The mailing list is currently maintained by the DGOF and Bernad Batinic.
