The "Lise Meitner Lecture" is part of the 73rd Annual Meeting of the Austria Physical Society (ÖPG) (September 23-27, 2024), under direction of the Department of Semiconductor Physics (Prof. Dr. Andreas W. Schell).

Austrian astronomer Prof. Lisa Kaltenegger specializes in modeling and characterizing exoplanets and in the search for life. She was appointed Associate Professor of Astronomy at Cornell University on July 1, 2014. She previously held a joint position at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg where she was the Emmy Noether Research Group Leader for the "Super-Earths and Life" group, and at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian in Cambridge, MA. She was appointed Lecturer in 2008 at Harvard University, and at University of Heidelberg in 2011. (Source: Wikipedia)
