Priv.-Doz. Dr. Bernhard Moser

Researcher

Curriculum Vitae

Bernhard A. Moser studied mathematics at Paris Lodron University Salzburg and received his PhD in mathematics from Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU). Since 2005, he has been employed at the Software Competence Center Hagenberg, where he has held various positions over the years (Head of Computer Vision, Area Manager for Data Science, Research Director, and currently Technology and Innovation Manager). In 2017, he habilitated as a “Privatdozent” (private lecturer) in mathematics at JKU. Since 2023, he has been working part-time at the Institute of Signal Processing at JKU, where he is pursuing a novel approach to mathematically ground bioinspired spike signal processing and neuromorphic computing based on a novel norm (discrepancy norm). Since 2020, he has been the president of the Austrian Society for Artificial Intelligence (asai.ac.at, opens an external URL in a new window), an academic network platform for AI research in Austria.
His research interests include the mathematical foundations of spike signal processing, spiking neural networks, neuromorphic computing, and AI in general.
