Sebastian Schertler, MSc

Curriculum Vitae

Sebastian Schertler was born in 1999 in Linz, Austria. From 2017 on, he studied Mechatronics at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz and received his Bachelor's degree in 2021. In 2024, he obtained his Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence with distinction from Johannes Kepler University. His master thesis, supervised by Prof. Sepp Hochreiter, investigated the effect of credit assignment algorithms on the generalization ability in reinforcement learning.
During 2023 he worked part-time at the Institute of Signal Processing to develop a differentiable viterbi decoder and to study the effects of quantization on neural networks. He is now working on his PhD in cooperation with voestalpine Stahl GmbH, focusing on machine learning methods for signal estimation and detection.
