An Evening Focused on Procedural Justice

Prof. Helmut Hirtenlehner’s inaugural lecture attracted a large audience

Prof. Hirtenlehner's Inaugural Lecture

The JKU Faculty of Law’s traditional inaugural lecture featuring Prof. Helmut Hirtenlehner (Institute for Procedural Justice) speaking about his field of research with a presentation titled "Normakzeptanz und Sanktionierungswahrscheinlichkeit" took place at the JKU’s ceremony room. The event also celebrated the new Institute for Procedural Justice.

The presentation was followed by a panel discussion on the topic moderated by Prof. Lyane Sautner (Institute for Procedural Justice) featuring Dr. Peter Unger (president of the Federal Finance Court), Prof. Klaus Boers (director of the Institute of Criminal Sciences at the WWU Münster), attorney Mag. René Haumer, LL.M. (Chamber Attorney of the Upper Austrian Bar Association and member of the Criminal Law Working Group of the Austrian Bar Association), Prof. Andreas Geroldinger (Institute for Civil Law), and Prof. Helmut Hirtenlehner (Institute for Procedural Justice, JKU).

At the end of the event, the "Procedural Justice" awards were presented to young scholars. The following reception gave all of the participants an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences.
