Roman Hausmann, MSc PhD

Core competencies

I hold a PhD in Economic and Social Sciences and currently work as a Research and Teaching Associate at the Institute for Ecological Economics, Vienna University of Economics and Business. Also, I am a postdoc researcher in the project "Open Organising for Energy Transition" at the Johannes Kepler University Linz.

My research investigates the potential of grassroots initiatives to contribute to the development of sustainable local economies and community-led social provisioning processes. More particularly, I aim to explore possibilities for collaborations between grassroots initiatives, local policy makers and non-activist citizens. My further research interests include degrowth, social solidarity economy, social ecological transformation, critical realism and multicriteria mapping.
