At the Institute of Technical Mechanics we apply the laws of mechanics - as the oldest discipline of physics - to practical engineering problems; both, in our teaching as well as in our research.
The Institute supervises students in the degree programs Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Technologies and Medical Engineering. I the first two semesters wir offer introductions into kinematics, statics, strength of materials and dynamcs. Advanced classes cover experimental and numerical methods in mechanics, continuum mechanics and structural mechanics as well as multifield theories.
In our research we focus on funded research projects, but we are also available as an experienced partner for sound and vibration measurements in industry.
A modern soise and vibration laboratory as well as powerful computation infrastructure are available for teaching and research.
