Between May 22 and 23, ao.Univ. Prof. Dr. Sigmar Stadlmeier, LL.M. invited the legal protection officers at the Austrian Ministries of Finance, Justice, the Interior, and National Defense to a meeting to discuss their ideas. Klaudia Tanner, the Austrian Minister of Defense, also took part in the discussions.

The ministries’ legal protection officers have been meeting once a year since 2004 at the invitation of the Ministry of Defense’s legal protection officer to engage in a general exchange of ideas relating to a legal protection officer’s role and function. Prof. Sigmar Stadlmeier (Institute of International Law at the JKU) is currently the legal protection officer for the Austrian Minister of Defense, Klaudia Tanner, and in this capacity, he extended an invitation to this year’s meeting at the Seminar Center Reichenau to focus on issues regarding restructuring of Directorate for State Protection and Intelligence Services (DSN) in the BMI and its effects when it comes to legal protection.
