Combatting the Shortage of Physicians: 100 New Students at the White Coat Ceremony

A new class of medical students will begin training as physicians at the JKU’s Faculty of Medicine.

A big day for budding physicians at the JKU’s Faculty of Medicine: Over 100 of this year’s 180 students accepted to the medical degree program received their white physician’s coat from JKU Vice-Rector Andrea Olschewski and Dean Milan Vosko. Two exciting firsts this year: For the first time, 180 students were accepted to the medical degree program at the JKU of which – also new – 60 will complete the entire program in Linz.

Established at the Johannes Kepler University in 2014, the Faculty of Medicine is the only medical school in Austria to offer a medical degree in accordance to Bachelor’s/Master’s system. At full capacity, the Faculty of Medicine is expected to accept 300 new students to the program annually.
